Recruitment

What is Recruitment?
Recruitment is the process of selecting the best possible employees.

The process involves both attracting a pool of high potential people from which to select, applying a rigorous process to select the best candidate from that pool, and then inducting that person into the organisation.

The recruitment process should be structured to ensure that processes are consistently applied to get the best possible result.

This structured approach minimises the risk of a bad hire and sets the groundwork for a successful selection and induction of a highly effective employee.

The process involves:

  • Attracting a pool of high potential candidates
  • Streaming the candidates through a structured selection process that is aligned with the skills, knowledge, behaviours, motives, and values that will provide the best possible chance of successful fit for the job
  • Creating and communicating performance guidelines, and therefore expectations, through the selection process
  • An induction and development process to ensure that the new recruit assimilates with the organisation's culture and fast tracks to realise their full potential

How can Recruitment be used?
The recruitment process should be used for all new employee acquisitions.
Best Practice for Recruitment
Best practice involves the implementation of a structured process that is relevant to the organisation and the specific jobs being filled.
